2020 was a year of unprecedented challenges and substantial disruptions in the way education has been delivered. After the success of our Innovation Festival in February we hoped to actively engage with more members of the Royal Holloway community. Unfortunately, the lockdowns that followed changed everything. COVID-19 significantly impacted (and still does!) the way we learn and teach. We could no longer engage in person, but we used our entrepreneurial spirit and worked to mitigate the distance problem to the best of our ability.
We recognise that the physical distance between us inhibits some of the events and workshops people may have come to expect at university. We have introduced new methods of contacting our team here to book Innovation Hours and receive personalised help and feedback; we implemented increased active hours on our Slack platform to provide live support; and we began introducing a range of digital workshops with multiple online collaborative tools to increase our reach. As a result, the Enterprise Hub was awarded a teaching commendation for our innovative approach. We remain committed to embodying the meaning of this commendation and providing quality entrepreneurship education and support for your ventures and venture ideas through these trying times.
