Starting Up: Top Tips from an Entrepreneur
On 6 December, Founder and Managing Director of Singing Grass communications consultancy, Alicia Liu, came to campus to talk to final year students about building up a freelance portfolio and starting your own company. The event was funded by Santander.
Singing Grass specialises in PR and digital marketing for European, Middle Eastern, US and Chinese clients in the arts, publishing and luxury retail sectors.
The students enjoyed one-to-one advice based on their career plans and were able to discuss some of the highs and lows of working freelance. The international diversity of the student body was in evidence in terms of the various career plans and Ms. Liu therefore focused on some examples of her work across Europe, the Middle East, the US and China. Ms. Liu was extremely impressed with the experience the students had already built up, particularly through internships and the Year in Business.
